Focus on Life

I've talked about the Challenges that I have started this year so when I heard about Sally Russick offering a Focus on Life Challenge, I thought how hard can it be? The idea is to take a photo each week and post it. The photo has to be something that comes from Sally's weekly prompt.

Taking photos; I love to take photos. Well, it turns out that this is the hardest thing I have taken on. The difficulty is deciding what to photograph that will convey the message and then posting about it.

I got into the Challenge late, this is week 5, but here I am and I'm confident that I'm up to it.

This week's prompt is: Capture Our Hearts.

I noticed when I looked at what everyone else was posting on the Studio Sublime blog, that most people photographed hearts. Hearts are nice and can be very pretty but I have never been a person that liked hearts that much. What captures our hearts here in the Panusis household is our animals.

All three of our dogs are rescues and the love they give back to us is a thousand fold. It is almost like they know and are very grateful. Especially Cindi, who loves to kiss and cuddle and sleep in bed with us.

The people that set her out on the street when they lost their home are the biggest losers. We are forever grateful to have her find us.

Have a great Super Bowl Weekend.

  3. I really enjoy seeing all the different ways we interpret Sally's prompts! When the kids left the nest, we got our Annie dog. She certainly captured our hearts and continues to do so every day!

  5. Our girl is a rescue as well and we are in the process of trying to adopt another! They are truely a gift - I cannot ever imagine throwing a beloved member of the family out on the street!

    1. So, there you are! I used to follow your blog and then I lost you. So happy to see your smiling face.
Yes, they put Cindi out on the street even though they got her shots at the local Humaine Society. Why not turn her in there? She was chipped so they called her former owners and they said they didn't want her back. That's how I found out.
As I said, we are the lucky ones.

  6. I am a complete and total dog lover too and if I could would fill my house with them. I agree that rescue dogs are so grateful and return their love to you many times over. Cindi looks very comfortable in her spot.

    1. Katherine,
I did so enjoy seeing your photos of nature's hearts. You have an exceptional eye.
My favorite? Your photo of Lucy. I can clearly see the heart and that she would capture anyone's.

    1. Marlene, I am so happy to hear from so many people that have opened their hearts to animals in need. It gives me yet another reason to have hope for us humans. There are more good people than bad but good people don't usually make the news.
I love that you live in Florida. It is such a wonderful place with so many things to do.

    1. Claire, I had so much fun reading your blog. You are an inspiration.
I got to see Molly-cat and she is beautiful. I have worked with animal rescue groups and yes, black cats are not adopted as much as others so I am very glad you gave Molly a wonderful home.
I look forward to enjoying your blog.

  10. Thank you about the photos but I can't take credit for the cat and horse picture. I always end my blog with a cat photo but I got this from the internet with no photo credit. I also think it is wonderful.
I really enjoyed your blog. I love all the white space. It makes it so bright and cheerful.
Thank you for giving your dog a loving home.
